I have a ProShop LP style guitar. It is amazing. It's better than my 90s Jap Love Rock.

However...

I bought it second hand for £275. I've seen a couple come up for sale and they depreciate horrendously. If you find one used at a low price, it's likely to be a bargain of a lifetime, buy one new and want to move it on, be prepared to take a hit.

Yeh, I'm thinking maybe a grand for one. Obviously gonna lose half of that the minute you buy it. But what a great idea from them, I wish them well with it.

Good question. I've filled in an online form, specifying I want jazz pickups and precision neck in a precision body, let's see what they come back with.

Vintage do have a reputation for good quality at sensible prices - but the custom shop 'Inspiration Gallery' does lean heavily on belt-sandered mashups of random Fender-style components.

Was hoping for a bit more inspiration - I think if I wanted a belt-sandered Fender mashup, I'd probably make my own.

They're just ones they've made. You can ask for anything you like.

Haven't got back to me yet. Either they're snowed under, or they thought my request for a precision neck and body with jazz pickups was a wind-up

(To be fair, it was only Friday I made that request)

That's for a P with two Alan Entwistle J pickups, maple neck, gloss black, everything else standard.

Bit much for me. Could be excellent but it's a bit of a leap in the dark. I'll stick with plan A.

It might be really nice but unless I see a review from a Basschat comrade I'm not going for it. Next bass I buy will be either a second hand bargain from someone trustworthy here, a cheapo homemade bitsa with pro setup or -and this is favourite- a visit to Jon Shuker. Two or three times the price of a Vintage but I'll be 100% confident it'll be the dog's bollocks.

I suppose it's not bad really. A standard would be £400. So it's really £400 extra for the hand finished, upgraded hardware and neck and colours of your choice.

I think it's quite good.

I wonder if they could do a chambered one to ensure 7.5lbs or less…..

Enquiry sent, hopefully they can do a sub 7.5lb Tony Butler Precision with Jazz width neck 🤞
