0175westwood29
hi guys im looking for a good secong bass that i can get for around 350-500 quid. im looking to backup my modulus fb4, so something that can come close to that would be wicked( but thats a long shot) ive played a few fenders and they were really nice but they were all like a grand! ive looked into fernandes gravity bass trying to find a 4er secondhand, im unsure bout the squiers as ive played a few and been unimpressed, olp mm copies were a big let down as i dn't want to have to mod the bass to much to make it a good sounding bass. the most ill do straight away is probs get a badass 2 bridge put on it, and some dunlop Trujillo sig strings on it. any suggestions? ideally it be nice if it was active. andy
Thunderthumbs
In that bracket, I don't think you can go wrong with a G&L Tribute L-2000. Great variety of sounds for very little moolah.

I don't know what they've changed but the last time I had one (early '90s) I'm sure it was a lot better than the ones they're making now. Or even a Groove, which was Status' take on Stingray(though that one come with a wood neck).

In fact - http://www.friday-ad.co.uk/AdRef/YI918O99H...llAdDetails.asp Don't know where in the world you are and it's a wooden necked model, but it's a positive bargain at that price

RhysP
You can have my Levinson B4 for £500 - beats the sh*t out of any Fender & it's active too: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...vinson+blade+b4 (It's on Ebay at the moment starting at £529 but I'd be more than happy to stop the auction & sell it to someone on here).
