Vox Humana / ESP bass

Nice PJ bass from 1987, made in the Netherlands by Vox Humana using ESP parts.

 

Back in the day they had some kind of collaboration going on where they made instruments partly themselves and offered ESP necks and hardware from the catalogue to complete the instrument to buyers wishes.

This bass has a handmade mahogany body with flamed maple top, hardware and neck from ESP Japan, and EMG pickups. The controls are; pan, volume, bass, treble. The pot in the back is a passive tone which isn't connected currently. The mini switch is to put it in active or passive mode.

As you can see the bass has a lot of damages and usermarks. Nothing structural though.
The bass plays easily, and the J type neck feels great. The frets show some wear, but nothing problematic. The truss rod works but doesn't turn very smoothly.

The bass weighs 4,56kg on my kitchen scales.
