Has anyone used the Sansamp VT Bass AND the VTDI?
Are they (more or less) the same except for the DI out?

I'm toying with the idea of building an upright/electric doubling pedalboard- love the Sansmp VTDI for electric, but they're £200 s/h and they don't often turn up so I'm looking at the VT Bass instead.

Anyone have any insight?

Been there many times with these two. The last time was last year when i re purchased both, but ended up with just keeping my old BDi-21. Over the years ive loved the BDDI ( especially the MKII), but also the VTBas DI. I always ended up keeping thr BDDI.

I couldn’t believe how much the Sansamp stuff has gone up over the last 5-6 years.

Id look on YT as there are quite a few comparison videos.

Cheers for the reply - just to be clear, I'm considering the VT Bass

Against the VTDI

NOT the BDDI.
I like the BDDI but it's not really suitable for this particular board.

Anyone know if the VT Bass is basically the VTDI without the DI?

Oh right, sorry, miss read the first post.

In that case the DI all the way. Having the Mid knob and Blend are, in my opinion, very useful. It’s a much more versatile box.

I've got both and, as far as I can tell, If you take the VTDI, put the blend on full and engage the 'bite' (and engage the 'speaker sim' if you're aiming for the original VT Bass where you couldn't turn it off) then the rest of the knobs are essentially the VT Bass. Personally I prefer the sound of the BDDI v2 set quite clean for an always-on tone, so use the VT Bass v2 in front of that for just a bit more drive when appropriate. I can't make the VT work as my basic tone, so I think the VTDI will probably end up leaving.

I had the rack version (didn't like it), then (for some reason) bought the VTBass-DI version.  Didn't like that either.  Both got sold.

I've been way happier with the BDDI/RBI, the dUg and the 2112-DI.  If you want something that pretty much does the VTBass and the BDDI, just buy a dUg pedal.

There's a Bass Fly Rig for sale in the Effects, that has both the BDDI and VTDI on separate channels (from what I'm lead to believe from the blurb), as well as a compressor, chorus, and a filter.
