Twigman Posted yesterday at 10:27 Posted yesterday at 10:27 Over the years I have bought many items from Thomann. I placed an order last Monday for the first time in a year. In the past I have found that my order gets picked and packed either same or next day and within a couple of days I have a DHL tracking number and the order arrives within about 4 days of ordering. Not this time. I ordered on Monday morning, got my notification of shipping late on Thursday evening with a DHL tracking number that is not yet recognised by DHL's tracking system. Have Thomann slowed things down? Has anyone else experienced longer delivery times recently? I would have ordered from a UK supplier but I couldn't find anyone that had what I wanted in stock. Quote
Si600 Posted yesterday at 10:30 Posted yesterday at 10:30 Not for me, but I don't order from them very often. I ordered a PSU on the 15th and it was in my grubby hands on the 17th when I got home. Quote
Bleat Posted yesterday at 10:49 Posted yesterday at 10:49 I bought some Grover machine heads recently from Thomann. No problems. I had the usual service from them. Picked, packed, sent and received within 4 days. Maybe you were just unlucky on this occasion? Quote
fretmeister Posted yesterday at 10:53 Posted yesterday at 10:53 Just before xmas. Cheap stuff seems to be as quick as it used to be. Expensive stuff seems to take an age to clear customs. Quote
Rosie C Posted yesterday at 10:56 Posted yesterday at 10:56 Lately it's been around a week for items to arrive for me, sometimes a little longer. I'd prefer not to use Thomann but for some things they're so much cheaper than anywhere else Quote
neepheid Posted yesterday at 11:04 Posted yesterday at 11:04 It's DHL being idiots. There's a black hole in their tracking. You won't get anything out of the tracking until it reaches the UK. It can take a week, maybe more. It's not Thomann's fault, except for them continuing to use these clowns. I hate the tracking black hole too, it's like your package is going round the back of the moon in Apollo 13. 3 Quote

It used to be that one could track one's parcel from the moment it left Thomann as it was passed through various warehouses across the continent. I used to enjoy watching where it went on googlemaps.... So that is no longer a thing? BOO! 1 Quote

rwillett Posted yesterday at 11:21 Posted yesterday at 11:21 Any orders I have made from Thommann seem to follow the same model of going around the back of the moon as well. I made the stupid mistake of amending my order around 30 mins after placing it. I gave up trying to work out what was coming and when, I'd read the vast number of emails sent and they seemed to add no information whatsoever. I can't recall who the delivery people were, but as somebody has already said, none of the tracking information worked at all. To be fair, I got what I ordered, but I had no idea what was going on, what would be delivered and when it would be delivered. Took around two weeks for it all to come. I have a feeling that their system is SAP based as it has the stench of SAP about it all and they are a German company (I think) Rob Quote

Nope: is the latest update on Thomann's site - dated last Thursday. This order is kit to upgrade my pedal board to integrate my recently acquired wireless system (new psu and some pedalboard tidy up stuff) - i had hoped to complete it in time for next rehearsal, this Sunday. I'd give Thomann a polite prod, they're usually pretty quick to respond. I'm guessing DHL haven't bothered their backsides to pick it up yet. Weekend doesn't help. Quote

I also ordered some pedalboard stuff on Monday from Thomann. It was picked up by DHL on Saturday morning and has now made it as far as the delivery depot. So I would say this is normal or close to it for post-Brexit orders from Thomann. Quote

I called Thomann - the guy was super helpful and said that all he could do was make a complaint with DHL. Once Tomann have handed it over to DHL, other than registering a complaint, they have no influence over matters. He said that he would register the complaint, and that if I hadn't received anything within 2-3 days, Thomann would ship it again. DHL are.... well, DHL... die hard losers, perhaps? 1 Quote
spongebob Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Bought my MB cab last Summer, took just over a week. Packaging amazing as ever, used them years ago and definitely will again. 👍 Quote

Item(s) would be delivered on the Wednesday of the following week. The only difference now is that delivery/customs adds an extra day or two onto the delivery time. Quote

My son bought some Hi Hats from Thomann, and they took over a week and a half to arrive due to the DHL "black hole". I ordered him some new sticks as part of his Christmas present from a UK supplier, but despatched via DHL, same thing, nearly 2 weeks to arrive, a phone call to DHL, and a few days later, they miraculously turned up. Did the same with his Thomann order (and advised him to contact Thomann as well), again, miraculously they turn up a few days later. The irony is, he works part-time in the warehouse of one of the local couriers that DHL sub-contract out to. Quote

GLS are very good usually, but they don’t ship outside the EU nor have a service point in every village. All the others are a way worse, FedEx/TNT/whatever they call themselves nowadays being the worst. Edited 20 hours ago by ghostwheel Quote

knirirr Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I put in an order 5 days ago and was charged via PayPal. But, there's no sign of the order on my orders list on Thomann's site. Still waiting for them to answer my email enquiry. Quote

If not then the payment may well be taken but they might not be able to link the order to your Thomann account. Quote

A shame they haven't got back in touch though. I don't appear to have an email from them confirming the order. Quote
BassTractor Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) - Ordered last Monday evening for a Friday evening delivery (according to Thomann site). - Dispatched Wednesday. - DHL said delivery was to be Thursday evening, but then I got a delay message from them. - Item delivered Friday morning (this being in The Netherlands). That's three and a half days within the EU. I'd guess you could add two or three days for the UK. Edited 14 hours ago by BassTractor Quote
