I’ve read a couple of people talking about different necks in here, all parts, might mite, warmth and the likes. I was wondering who’s best, I have a feeling I’ll need to replace the neck of my bass and I really want to give it the love it deserves so I have a budget of about 300 pound for the neck. (I’d rather not import)

Tldr: who has best neck in the game

Haha, yeah that would be a good idea, it’s a jazz body with a p bass neck, I’d be happier with a P neck

Good combination (it's what I have on my Jazz) 👍

Best advice I can give is keep a close eye on this form, on eBay, and on Reverb and buy used, aim for Warmoth, Allparts, or Might Mite in that order. If you're buying new,

  • Warmoth are always good but expensive and can't be bought new without importing from the US which adds duties/taxes
  • Allparts are excellent necks 98% of the time but when bought from the UK distributor often come unfinished (risk of uneven frets etc) and without a nut, both of which add time and cost.
  • Mighty Mite are good 80% of the time but if you get a 20%er it could be quite poor.

Given you're budget - which is decent - the above's where I'd be looking

I'd be very wary of spending that much sight unseen.

If you can find another 100 you could have Jon Shuker make you one, and going by what I hear here you're guaranteed it's going to be as good as it gets.

Perhaps place an advert in the wanted section here on BC?

Someone might have a decent quality neck they're no longer using... Worth a shot, I'd say.

Yes, certainly safer than ebay. I got a beautiful Japanese precision neck here.

Could probably get him to do a 'Funder Percision' decal as well. I still dream of the day I'm able to give him a call and get myself a custom build, I've been reading about how bloody great his work is on here for years.

Status was not mentioned, although that name states "stable". I know they can only be found 2nd hand with some luck. But if you are after a Status, you sure want to invest to your bass, and not waste your money to Fender/Squier. Have you ever tried a Limelight?
