neepheid Posted Friday at 09:53 Posted Friday at 09:53 Well, that's official - if you had any pending orders with Bax, you ain't getting it. You'll be added to the bottom of a very long list of creditors. "According to the administration of the bankrupt companies, you have placed an order. Unfortunately, due to the bankruptcy, this order can no longer be delivered. We regret that we are unable to convey more favourable news in this regard. Consequently, you have a claim in the bankruptcy of Bax-Shop.nl B.V. amounting to <amount>. If this amount is correct, no further action is required from you, and this amount will be recorded on the list of provisionally recognized concurrent bankruptcy claims." 1 Quote

Frankly, it's a bit of a sobering warning about buying expensive gear online. Does anyone know whether a person in that situation be protected had they paid by PayPal or by credit card? Quote

Thankfully in my case it was <£100, paid back in September last year and I'm over it already, but others may not be in a position to be so glib about it. Quote

Agreed, i worry when i see stuff price at dangerously low prices in some places that it's because they're about to go under.... 1 Quote
Hellzero Posted Friday at 12:07 Posted Friday at 12:07 If you paid through regular protection enabled PayPal, you're covered and if you paid using a real Credit Card, so are you. Good luck with your bank if you paid this way... Quote

I was so stupid to gamble on the EVH - it worked out in the end but could have been £750 I didn't see for quite some time ( although I had used Paypal) Quote

That last Bax sale was in my targeted advertising a lot and the low prices on items like the Tom Delong strat, the EVH guitars and others set off my alarm bells because no one else had those items on sale with £500 off. I actually wondered if scammers had cloned their website, if it's too good to be true and all that.. Guess it was just a desperate fire sale to get in some revenue to stave off the creditors a bit longer Edited Friday at 12:39 by Cato 1 Quote

neepheid Posted Friday at 20:59 Posted Friday at 20:59 LOL, Bax website is back online for some reason. Still can't order anything, Quote
neepheid Posted Friday at 21:03 Posted Friday at 21:03 But look at what it says at the top of the page... Quote
BabyBlueSound Posted yesterday at 05:54 Posted yesterday at 05:54 Maybe they're converting to a pyramid scheme and just want to make a few new sales to pay off the old creditors 😅 Quote

You might (emphasis on "might") be able to claim it back - https://www.moneysupermarket.com/credit-cards/what-is-chargeback/ Quote
jezzaboy Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I`m glad I got my £40 refund from Bax a few weeks back, had to start a paypal claim to get them to pay up. No wonder they didn`t have the item in stock. 1 Quote

The bank's dirty little secret is they bone the merchants via merchant banking same as the credit cards and they CAN do a charge back. Quote
