Howdy.

Tried searching this forum a many others but struggling to find a clear answer to my conundrum!

I currently a split signal at the very end of my board, 1 path to the amp & 1 path to the PA ( and iem)

Recently I picked up a used Boss LS2 because I like the idea of being able to tweak the volume of each out.

I figured it would be as simple as using the main input, then A out for the amp and B out for the pa on the ab mix setting however the volume controls don't effect the signals.

What am I doing wrong?

It doesn't work because the LS-2 level controls are post-loop; i.e. after the return, not before the send.

Why do you want to tweak the level going to the desk?  I think the sound person wouldn't like it if you did that.  The usual place to make that adjustment is the channel gain on the desk.

Typically the line to the desk would be balanced i.e. using a DI box.

We don't have a sound guy, would be nice though - motive is irrelevant really, at least I know it isn't a possibility. Thanks for the info

The EHX Switchblade Pro will do what you want - the two send/return loops each have individual volume controls, and work as outputs if you don't return a signal. Mine conked out within a year and is getting sent back to EHX for repair today, as it happens, but it was a fantastic unit while it was working.

Radial Engineering have a bunch of different options for this. All a bit pricy but as good as you can get. A cheaper option is the EHX Tri Parallel mixer that gives you three controllable channels at a much more reasonable price, also with the critical phase switch.
