There are new Fender Standard series guitars and basses. Made in Indonesia, presumably the same factory as the classic vibes?

There's a few different colours, the Fender link I put didn't work, but they're up at Andertons.

With ceramic pickups and poplar bodies these seem a lot like Fender branded Squier Affinity basses to me 🤔

Pleased to see the return of Nordstrand Big Single pickups on the Ibanez BTB,this time on the Standard Series. Never ever got on with those licensed non USA "Barts".

I see Seymour Duncan are releasing an amp this year.

It doesn't sound that great on this demo TBH; it's 2025 and it's Premier Guitar.  They've got a long enough track record of rig run downs...they should be able to get a half decent sound off trade booths like this.

Also, no idea who that is demonstrating (someone is going to say, 'Oh, man.  That's <insert name here> and he's played with <insert name> and <insert name>'), but the playing was astonishingly bad and doing the gear no favours at all.

Hypocrisy 1.01: I started this year's Gear Abstinence Thread, and now I am checking the updates on No Treble's website site 🤣

I'd like to play the Sterling MM Bongo.

I've been playing Russian roulette with FB Marketplace a few times a week.  The day we stop looking is the day we die...

That's Skyler Accord. He has a sig Spector bass, though I've no idea who he is....

Yep, terrible demo (playing AND rig sound).

Not just me then. Why they do demos from the floor at NAMM is beyond me, they never sound good.

For clicks and visibility.

Get the product out there and then get proper reviews (full of slap of course) later in the year.

Rex will be endorsing something else within 6 months 😉🤣

Last year he had a wall of Mesa stuff, prior to this he was using Hartke.  Ol' Rex probably has a very good agent shopping his name about.

He gets around so much, I just don't understand how manufacturers have so much trouble seeing through this endorsement cycle he operates under.  This is likely a huge win for Ashdown, but will he actually ever use them?

I would bet actual money that that's exactly what they are

Sadly just another Class D amp, with an unnecessary Drive circuit.
I think I speak for a lot of us bassists in that, if we want drive, we already have pedals that do that for us.

I can't ever recall hearing a drive circuit built into an amp even come close to a well considered pedal for the same thing.

Why do these guys keep doing this?!
Surely it would make more sense to build in a decent compressor, or maybe a blend for the effects loop, something more useful...

Damn that GAS.

I think this will make quite a few folk happy.  I'm sure I've seen people lament the lack of a fiver whenever I mention my 4 string Triad.

I think (as a bit of a Tech21 whore), the Landmark and dUg heads were fantastic.  I suppose you could also factor in some of the Darkglass stuff too.

I’m a big Ashdown fan, but I must admit I don’t like the garish branding of their signature amps - they might be amazing (I know the Geezer one is excellent) but I can’t get over the huge, ugly graphics they put all over them. The new Shavo amp is a perfect case in point. They had the right idea with the old Mark King head - subtle branding, but a distinct feature set, with the 12-band graphic, etc.

I am looking at flats at the moment. I cannot deny, having his name on them has got my attention.

I agree. For me I want gain, volume, bass, low mids, mid mids, treble and a mute. The rest I'll use pedals.
