Really not sure about that body shape. It just feels, bloated? I'm not sure, maybe I'll feel differently seeing someone actually pick it up and play it. I would prefer a more drastic multi-scale as well, my thinking being if you're gonna do it, go all in, but that's just me.

It might be a good way to try  a multi scale singlecut if you don't want to spend a lot of money. £297 for the cheapest one. I've never really been taken with the idea of multi scale or single cut, but at this price, I'd be tempted to give it a go. I don't know how they do it..

Interesting, I suppose it's not too gopping for a singlecut (particularly the sparkly purple one), but I think if I gave in to cheapo fan-fret curiosity, it'd be the G4M one - £50 less & definitely less of a porker.

Edit - wasn't paying attention - the 5er's £279

Thankyou I've been looking for another I. only have 1 under 500.00 bass Right now I don't wanna spend crazy money on a bass anymore

The $500 fan fret Harley Benton 5 string Bass (single cutaway/  I was gonna buy a Harley Benton 5 or 6 stranger soon.I was liking the BZ 5000 ll and the BZ 6000 ll

BUT this bass is my kinda MONSTER , If it plays and sounds as good or better than it looks. it's a BADASS looking bass.

I'm buying one

I've owned a lot of big money BASSES over the years . and still have a few

But my 399.00 single cutaway BRICE FREAK 5 str is one of my all time favorites

I'm gonna see if lightning can strike twice in the same place.

I'm ordering this HB bass tonight.

Wish me luck

Good luck, and let us know how you get on with it when it arrives.

Definitely got some Ibanez SRFF/MS vibes going on, and I think a lot of people will appreciate it not trying to be another Dingwall (looking at you, Mayones...)

It's likely a good launching pad for upgrades as well. Interested to hear what they sound like.

Ooooh, I didn't notice it yesterday and it's more expensive, but I think I much prefer the black flame burl finish. It doesn't look so empty with the wood grain.

Still, the G4M one still appeals to me more because of the longer scale length.

It's weird that I learned about these basses here. Usually, there are some YouTube reviews on basses like these on channels to which I subscribe, such as BassTheWorld or Nate Navarro, but none so far. Too new, maybe?

A new range that was teased ages ago.

Not entirely sure about these! Feels like there's a lot of body with nothing going on. 33.5-35" scale, 4 different finishes, 18v 3 band preamp, stainless steel frets, glow in the dark side dots.

Is that a "wow that thing looks amazing", or a "wow my eyes are burning wtf is that" ?

The first one. Single cut is not usually my thing but I might make an exception for this

Not exactly - the neck bolts are a different pattern, for example, and there are other differences. Maybe just the body?

The neck construction's completely different - the HB has a 5-piece neck with a beefy-looking volute, while the Brice has a one-piece with a really obvious scarf joint & no volute.

I know which one I'd be more worried about if it fell off its stand...

I'm not so sure about the "new" part.

Thomann had these Harley Benton fanned fret 5b DLX basses out in 2016.

Bit daft making a fan fret bass and the low B only being 35 ins long.

I agree, I was hoping for 36" plus.

Not sure of this has already been mentioned but I couldn't find anything in the search feature.

Harley Benton have finally released a multi scale bass. Given their reputation of quality at price I'm seriously tempted to dip my toe in the multi scale waters.

Anybody got their hands on one yet?

The Redsub ones have been avaibale for a few years now, 4, 5 & 6 string versions, I think they look a lot nicer but I don't like singlecuts at all really:

Yeah I've seen the Redsubs and I'm not particularly keen. I've had gear4music stuff before and the HB stuff is generally much better quality. I've seen several Red Subs on eBay with busted headstocks.
