FretsOnFire Posted January 24 Posted January 24 Of the two which is the better? Asking people that know about this kind of stuff as I've not found much online. My amp of choice is a BH 250 Quote

Well, one is a 1x10 cab running at 8 ohms and the other is a 1x12 cab running at 4 ohms. And about £100 difference from what i can see. You'll only get about half your amps potential power into the 10/8 The 12" speaker will probably sound a bit deeper than the 10" The single 10" one will probably not have enough oomph at pub gig levels Go and try them out..... 1 Quote
Downunderwonder Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I very much doubt a cheap 2x8 is going to keep up with the drums in a pub band. At 4 ohms it won't know what to do with all the power but you can't build a tower power of 2ohm. 1 Quote
redbandit599 Posted January 26 Posted January 26 If you are looking at 2x8 cabs then I can highly recommend the GR Bass GR208/4 500w. Thunderous little thing and easily copes with live gigging and acoustic drums in a pub rock band. I use a 500w head with it and it does seem to like a bit of power. Quote
Woodinblack Posted January 26 Posted January 26 I gig with the gnome 10/8, its a great thing, but it isn't enough on its own. I also go through the PA so the speaker is just there to provide an onstage sound to those of the band that don't have in ears. 1 Quote
