Nut files? Recommend some please.

I need to lower the nut slots in my bitsa.

 

Can someone recommend some serviceable nut files that don’t cost the earth?

Or you could use a section of each string glued to something like a piece of wood

Don’t try it with flats or tapewounds …

Just a word of caution - welding nozzle cleaners work fine with plastic nuts, but they really struggle getting through bone ones.

It’s a plastic Fender one.

You can get a set of reasonable jewellers files from the likes of Amazon for around a tenner. Won't be up to daily use, but will serve for occasional jobs.
