Hello!

I am selling this as I haven't played bass for a few years. Possibly the best way of controlling a synth with your bass available (although I haven't been plugged into Bass world for a while)

Has Imprint system if you want to control through laptop/vst. I used to run a Moog Voyager and SE1x analogue for it for live and recording with my bands which was a lot of fun! Main signal can be blended in also. Has a poly mode

I ordered from Steve Chick at IR in 2014 so it's not new. It has been gigged but not abused. They have newer version now I believe

-Comes as a complete system with a spare cable -

-Warmoth body with Nordstrand pickups, some spare pickups and plectrum transmitter included-

-Natural electric J bass sound is quite good, I used it on a few session tracks (it was my only bass). You can use it just as a normal bass too (without the funky cable)

-Great super low latency especially with Right Hand compared all the others I tried

-Patch selectable

-MIDI IN and OUT

-Pretty darn RARE and there was a long wait for it, still is I believe

a bit of a shonky recording (and bass playing ; p )but you get the 808 esque analogue bass at around 2:40 <above video> and some slow web at 4:30 ish

this one has more of an obvious analogue synth sound, chorus riff played straight into se1x (analogue synth Moog Voyager clone ish) by Studio Electronics, the rack synth in video) x,super rough live recording again but you get the idea of tracking and feel here

You can find the originals on Spotify although I suppose that doesn't show anything about feel/tracking

Oh man, I wanted one of these for years. I had an order for a PJ from IR but after nearly four years of being given the runaround, I gave up and had to struggle to get my deposit refunded. A shame as it kind of soured me.

I have played one of these and they are great so it’s still very tempting.

Hi James I just wanted to say I love your playing - I have two EPs by Noya Rao. Excellent stuff

I'm supposed to be getting ready for work, but I'm hooked on the first track. Love the vibes too. Think I'm gonna need to hear more @James Wiltshire

Yes IR are a bit nerve wracking to deal with. They are a super small company and it is quite a technical build I think

Anyone is welcome to come and try it out. Obviously midi bass is a tricky animal, some other options not so good (ive tried). The system takes a bit of explaining

pro4 is lots of fun (especially with analogue synth and big amp). Definitely a knack to it but if synths and live bass blended (or not) is the vibe then this is best as far as I am aware

Thanks a lot! There is more on Spotify, Chris Dagger did the stuff after first two e.ps and he had an IR bass too. Very good player

I played bass on that one too although I think I borrowed a P bass for that

May as well plug shamelessly, get those royalties pumping, maybe I can get a toblerone one day

very nice

I had a 5 string version for a while - it does take a little bit of figuring out but once done this is the closest thing (at the moment) to 'proper' control of a synth with a bass. The key thing to get your head around imo is that synths work differently to basses so you can't necessarily expect to control them using a bass string and get the same outcome.

If you are into or using synths though well worth checking out. Not sure about yours James but mine worked really nicely as a regular bass as well
