FS/FT/PX Status Buzzard B2
£2500
Whitstable

Bought it, love it, but not really a 'me' bass. I'd love a BC member who's passionate about either Entwistle, The Who, or Status to have this bass, but if not it'll go to a shop on consignment sale (at the £2,500 Basschat price I'm taking a bit of a hit on what it owes me). I'm happy to talk trades/PX but would certainly prefer cash. If the former, I'm looking for a biggie by Mesa; 400, Prodigy/Strategy, Titan etc, but could have arm twisted by other aesthetically pleasing music/audio gear, you know how I roll :)

I won't waste your time with a lengthy description, anyone interested in buying this knows the score. I'd welcome tryouts chez Beedster, and am happy to post worldwide. I'll take some detailed photos over the next couple of days. There's still a minor issue with the switchable mid pot to be resolved but apparently it's an easy fix and I will get that done

There's a thread about it that veers off into Cold War bombers Basschat style. As I mentioned, the circuit issues are largely resolved now

It reminds me a bit of an Overwater Original. I guess there is a common thread  of John Entwistle running through both designs.

Lovely and unusual bass, good luck with the sale.

Lovely basses these, surprisingly adaptable to any style with that pre amp.

It has the advantage of having Buzzard on the headstock unlike the later ones too.

Re adaptable, absolutely, it’s like a Modulus Flea on steroids. And I bloody love that headstock, there’s something a bit Grim Reaper about it 👍

Well, I'm an Entwistle/Who obsessive, so that's a start! I wish I was in a position to make you an offer 😔

And I wish I could afford to sell it for less mate 👍

Gentle nudge to the top, suspect this'll probably have to go to eBay quite soon :(

@walshy has dangled a rather elegant piece of Californian Engineering so I'm probably going to put this on eBay and Reverb this week. I'm happy to talk deals here first. I'll also take a load of detailed photos tomorrow (Monday) and post them here. It's an extraordinary instrument and if it's on your bucket list now's your chance 👍

NEVER play a bass once you've decided to sell it...........  :(

Numerous small dinks, none really noticable form more than a few feet away but nonetheless there

This is the biggest, looks worse in the photo than in the flesh

LEDs. And look how far back down that neck the 8ve is :)

Sublime weave 👍

Note in pic below the visible pot (switchable mids) is slightly tempramental. It's improved massively with a bit of professional attention since I first owned the bass but I suspect will need replacing at some stage.

Note in pic below one side of the lower batter clip is broken. It all works fine but will also I suspect need replacing at some stage

D-Tuner fitted when I bought the bass. Not something I use but seems fully functional

Ha ha, likewise mate, the problem with this monster is that it even sounds massive unplugged, it has a resonance and - dare I say it - heft, to every note, even unplugged. The neck is such an absolute technical marvel also, I've owned Modulus (Flea, Sonic Hammer), several Status-necked basses, Wals, and a few luthier instruments, and never come across a neck like this. Frankly it's a bummer it's not Fender-fit or it would be hanging off a Precision as we speak..... :)
