northstreet Posted Monday at 11:38 Posted Monday at 11:38 The material on the grille of my Fender Rumble 100 combo has started to split. I've checked the Fender website and it doesn't appear you can buy a replacement, so it looks like I'll have to try a repair. Does anyone know of a company that would do this (I'm based just north of London)? I'm guessing I could do it myself, but by the time I've bought the cloth and a staple gun, spent ages picking out all of the existing staples, and then tried to put it back together keeping it taught and tidy, I'm guessing it would have cost me just as much and it will look terrible! But any (useful!) suggestions appreciated. Thanks. Quote

Get the edges as straight as you can, ie fabric pattern matched to edge of frame. The last thing to give it that really professionally done look is to go over it gently but generously with a hairdryer. The heat will tighten the cloth up and give it that really nice taught finish. I would expect the whole job to take less than two hours start to finish even if it's your first time. Rob 1 Quote
Dan Dare Posted Monday at 20:09 Posted Monday at 20:09 The other option, for that funky industrial look, is to buy a piece of powder coated metal mesh (you can get it cut to size) and replace the cloth with it. 1 Quote
