Deleting ad pics when bass sold

Question

Posted

Hi, Glad to say I've sold three basses on here recently but whilst editing to show they have sold I have also tried to delete the photos for obvious reasons, but have not found a way to do this. I tried select and cut and they disappear, but when I press edit/save, they just reappear. Any help for next time please?

Cheers

Graham

Delete them from your profile under ‘My Attachments’ 👍

Not sure what the obvious reasons are, there are no way to edit a post once you have sold something (and they are handy there for reference), but if you feel you have to delete them, yes, you can remove them from your attachments.

I never understand why people want to eradicate all traces of their sales.

IMO it's better to keep the For Sale ads for future reference.

I have to delete photos regularly or the site won't allow me to upload new ones 👍

Yes, I used to agree with this, but I didn't put any identifying evidence that I was the owner, as now recommended. Also it reduces the possibility of cloners not using them.

Thanks all for your quick response. Have also found that I was edging closer to my upload limit, so another reason to get deleting. Thanks again. 👍

The automatically created thumbnail of your first image will remain even if you delete the images in your account, just saying.

I always erase the photos as I need the space for further ones, but noticed this non bothering at all part a long time ago.

As @chris_b and @Woodinblack said, it's a good thing that ads remain intact as it's the best way to know the real value of what has been sold, if it's been sold at the listed price.

How do you do that?

I can't find any option to delete in 'My Attachments'

There’s a box on the right hand side of the pictures to tick and a bin comes up

Have deleted around fifty images from attachments now. However, on checking the relevant sold advert, the pictures are all still there. Assume this has to be done BEFORE I mark as sold and subsequently locked?
ps: I am a bit of a luddite when it comes to computer tech by the way! 😂😂😂

No, if you delete them from your attachments, they should be gone

Well, not for me, as mine are still on the post.
