Help needed......

Recommended Posts

Hello people,

I'm trying to an old buddy a favour.

Does anyone have an idea what this is roughly worth:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Early-Aria-Pro-II-SB...ents_Guitars_CV?

My mate is desperate to know as soon as possible, so be cool if anyone has a view on this who can answer pretty quickly.

....and it is genuinely a mate. Not the type of "mate" who sends you to the chemist to get some cream for [s]your[/s] his wee lad.

Thanks in advance.

Got to be worth £150 - £250? May go for less though.
Really? I thought it would be worth slightly more. But what do I know!

I have no interest in buying it, as I say, just trying to help a mate out.

If it were mine, I'd be disappointed if it only went for £250. These are really nice basses, and seem to be getting quite collectable. I would have thought around £400 - possibly more on a good day?

+1. They're not a cool brand these days so are hugely undervalued on ebay, although they're probably significantly better than most instruments Fender were producing at the time. I've got a guitar playing mate who can't understand why I'd play a Fender bass when I could get an Aria so much cheaper, and he might have a point :)

Only thing you've gotta be mindful of is the potentially low resale value; whilst there's always someone who'll pay over the odds for a crap vintage Fender (me usually), there's not a lot of people who'd pay £400 for an Aria.

Buy it dude

Sean PM'd me about this - I was inclined to think about £400 - £500 but then I did an Ebay search. Hope you're sitting down:

I doubt this is typical & maybe these are really rare Down Under - but it's still a shocker!

I have to admit I'm not a huge Aria expert, but there are some Aria geeks on here who might know better - I'm pretty sure Bloodaxe has got one or ten. Sean - maybe you should edit the title to reflect vintage Aria content.

Jon.
