I complained to the brewery who said "We have had a few instances like this recently so I have raised with our Account Manager at Evri so they can investigate. We are currently assessing our courier options as well." Presumably Evri drivers have been given a quota of packages they must "deliver" first time, or else, and so they drop them and run. My parcel was almost ripped to shreds across the top of the package showing the bubble wrap lining. It has obviously caught on sorting machinery or run over! 1 Quote
Sean Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Interestingly, in Argentinian slang, Evri means scumbag. 3 Quote
michael2003x Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I actually check now before I order anything, which courier a supplier uses. If it's Evri, I look elsewhere. A few years back, I ordered a P bass and an Ashdown 4x10 cabinet from Guitar Guitar. A DPD driver who was a young lady, knocked with the bass and asked me that as my order was musical equipment, would I prefer to help her with the cab rather than her man-handling it onto her trolley (those cabs weigh a ton !!). I was more than happy and really pleased that the driver actually cared about what she was delivering. 2 Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I'm lucky, my local Evri delivery is a lovely lady. In any case it's always a good idea to get to know your local couriers and treat them with respect. It'sa tough job and making it a bit easier for them is reciprocated. 4 Quote

With all large companies, you are dependant on the local staff you deal with. If they are good, you will have a happy experience. I agree that it is not the easiest job and that we should do what we can to make it pleasant for them. Quote

To say I dislike EVri is putting it mildly, but I moved to a new area about a year and a half and the driver that delivers around here is pretty good. Fingers crossed! Agreed. Our regular Evri driver is excellent (she can't really not be - she lives on our estate and her kid goes to the same school as a lot of other kids on the estate, so there's nowhere to hide!), but it's blindingly obvious when she's away because Evri deliveries suddenly start going missing. BabyBlueSound Posted February 10 Posted February 10 We got the same nice Evri lady for many many years, since the Hermes times. Only trouble is she comes after 7pm a lot which is not always ideal, but that's a 1st world problem. Quote

SH73 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 My parcel delivery by Evri has been shocking in past few years. I had a rack mounted equipment lobbed over my gate landing on concrete , it works but caused it visual damage. I had a notification where my parcel was not delivered stating " customer refused delivery", I have two doorbells , door knock and was in all day waiting for the parcel. Another occasion, my parcel was delivered at 11:30 pm, it sat on doorstep all night, no notification until next morning We were up, no door knock nothing. The front room lights were on. I had a late notification as well that parcel was deliver half an hour ago, sat in the rain on doorstep. The list goes in and on. You can't even complain, because the calls seems to be automated and no one cares! Quote

KingBollock Posted February 19 Posted February 19 I had a parcel delivered by Evri recently, and I think it was only due Evri that I got what I had ordered. The box was made of very thin cardboard and was far too big for what was in it (which was some quite delicate, wooden boxes) with absolutely nothing for padding, they were just left to rattle about. Due to the box being closed using only one piece of sellotape, the box was actually open when I got it. It can only be due to careful handling by at least some staff at Evri, that everything was still in the box and was undamaged. I have had some bad experiences with Evri in the past, but we’ve not had any problems with them since moving here. My wife has nothing but praise for our driver. 1 Quote
fleabag Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Here's a new one for Nevri. I was due an ebay delivery couple days back, and no show. Then i get an email saying they couldnt deliver due to weather conditions in my neck of the woods. Its been pretty dry and sunny for days here, so its a pack of lies. Who wudda thought. Quote

It does seem to be down to the driver attitude…pre Evri it was called Hermes and our local driver was without blemish and was seen on the road all day doing local deliveries, stuff arrived when it was supposed to. dave_bass5 Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I was told, and i dont know how true this is, that Amazon use Evri when they want to lose a faulty return so claim for a new one. Ive canceled a few orders from companies when ive found out it’s Evri delivering. 1 Quote

Franticsmurf Posted Wednesday at 10:57 Posted Wednesday at 10:57 Evri delivered a package to me ordered from an overseas company via Amazon. The first I knew about the delivery was when, four days later, I asked about the non-receipt of my order. The seller came back with a photo from the Evri driver of him about the drop the package over my garden fence into a part of the garden I can't see from the front or back. And he claimed I'd signed for it. Sure enough it was there - and had been during the only rain shower we've had in days. I have a porch which everyone else uses. Fortunately the contents were ok. I (naively) thought I'd get an email notification 'your package will be delivered today' and confirmation email 'your package has been delivered' as I do with other couriers. 2 Quote
Lozz196 Posted Wednesday at 13:26 Posted Wednesday at 13:26 I have to admit that from now on I`m tempted to, whenever something is just left outside my property, to state I haven`t received it and to request a replacement. If couriers kept on getting hit with claims it might stop this. The only reason I don`t is that I think it wouldn`t be fair to the retailer. 2 Quote

We live in a 5 story block and quite often packages are left either in the public entrance, anywhere in the stair well, and always marked as 'handed to resident' or 'left at reception'. We (most tenants) have complained to Amazon many times, and while it's not the fault of Amazon, they should be cracking down on this sort of thing. Edited Wednesday at 13:33 by dave_bass5 1 Quote
lemmywinks Posted Wednesday at 13:41 Posted Wednesday at 13:41 Recently I've had an Evri parcel delivered to an incorrect address (was meant to be my workplace) and another left next to the gate post right next to the street at my home. Our blue bin was about 2m away on the drive which they could have hid a parcel behind, instead they left it in full view of anybody passing by. Wouldn't have even needed to step onto the property to nick it, thankfully it was safe. 1 Quote
MacDaddy Posted Wednesday at 18:29 Posted Wednesday at 18:29 I was getting worried having read this thread, as I had an item bought from the eBay which was delivered by Evri. The tracking said the package was signed by the householder. I was at work, and I live alone. The package had been left in a communal area. Fortunately it was still there when I arrived home. 1 Quote
jezzaboy Posted Wednesday at 19:58 Posted Wednesday at 19:58 We have had Evri deliver 5 packages over the last week, problem is they aren`t ours. It`s crap stuff from Temmu. They dump it on the door (it`s a tenement flat) and by the time we get to the door they have legged it. Except for the last one as it was rather a large box and the wife managed to catch him, she gave him some verbal and gave him the parcels back. Some have our address but not our name and others have the wrong name and address. Numpties! 1 Quote
