Presumably Evri drivers have been given a quota of packages they must "deliver" first time, or else, and so they drop them and run.

My parcel was almost ripped to shreds across the top of the package showing the bubble wrap lining. It has obviously caught on sorting machinery or run over!

I actually check now before I order anything, which courier a supplier uses. If it's Evri, I look elsewhere. A few years back, I ordered a P bass and an Ashdown 4x10 cabinet from Guitar Guitar. A DPD driver who was a young lady, knocked with the bass and asked me that as my order was musical equipment, would I prefer to help her with the cab rather than her man-handling it onto her trolley (those cabs weigh a ton !!). I was more than happy and really pleased that the driver actually cared about what she was delivering.

I'm lucky, my local Evri delivery is a lovely lady. In any case it's always a good idea to get to know your local couriers and treat them with respect.  It'sa tough job and making it a bit easier for them is reciprocated.

Same here. With all large companies, you are dependant on the local staff you deal with. If they are good, you will have a happy experience. I agree that it is not the easiest job and that we should do what we can to make it pleasant for them.

Agreed. Our regular Evri driver is excellent (she can't really not be - she lives on our estate and her kid goes to the same school as a lot of other kids on the estate, so there's nowhere to hide!), but it's blindingly obvious when she's away because Evri deliveries suddenly start going missing.

We got the same nice Evri lady for many many years, since the Hermes times. Only trouble is she comes after 7pm a lot which is not always ideal, but that's a 1st world problem.

My parcel delivery by Evri has been shocking in past few years. I had a rack mounted equipment lobbed over my gate landing on concrete , it works but caused it visual damage.

I had a notification where my parcel was not delivered stating " customer refused delivery", I have two doorbells , door knock and was in all day waiting for the parcel.

Another occasion, my parcel was delivered at 11:30 pm, it sat on doorstep all night, no notification until next morning We were up, no door knock nothing. The front room lights were on.

I had a late notification as well that parcel was deliver half an hour ago, sat in the rain on doorstep.

The list goes in and on. You can't even complain, because the calls seems to be automated and no one cares!

I had a parcel delivered by Evri recently, and I think it was only due Evri that I got what I had ordered.

 

The box was made of very thin cardboard and was far too big for what was in it (which was some quite delicate, wooden boxes) with absolutely nothing for padding, they were just left to rattle about. Due to the box being closed using only one piece of sellotape, the box was actually open when I got it. It can only be due to careful handling by at least some staff at Evri, that everything was still in the box and was undamaged.

 

I have had some bad experiences with Evri in the past, but we’ve not had any problems with them since moving here. My wife has nothing but praise for our driver.
