Detaching myself from my Mac and all the other stuff that makes up my DAW is something I really liked the idea of, so have recently got myself a few bits and pieces that can make a kind of portable set up, that I can use anywhere in the house

And in the garden once it warms up

it’s been good learning how to use a standalone sequencer and also delving into midi deeper than I’ve ever needed too!

Picture of everything laid out whilst I worked through a few problems

Should all be nice and neat today, providing my midi thru and midi merger arrive

Interesting, being thinking about this but haven’t go started yet.

How do you find it? Tell us more please. For instance how did you find the circuit tracks? How easy is it to connect different brand and sync them?

I found the CT really easy, followed a few videos on YouTube and got the hang of it

Tracks 1&2 are the internal synth, it’s very novation sounding (I have an ultranova)

Tracks 5,6,7&8 are drum / sample tracks, plenty of sounds and packs can be added if you have an SD card using Components software

Tracks 3&4 are midi so they control the Roland SE-01 and Korg volca

The audio from the Roland and volca go back into the CT so can b mixed in with the other tracks so you don’t need a mixer unless you add more synths

For me it’s better using a keyboard like the Arturia, but it needs to be set up right so the CT is the main clock for when using the arp’

Also, I can’t play the ext synths with the arturia yet, just waiting for midi merge and midi thru boxes to arrive

Then I’m putting it all, except the keyboard, on a cheap pedal board with all the cables, including power, tucked underneath

Hope that helps
