Minininjarob Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Thinking of getting one to go with my 400rb but almost no one has them. Any experiences of any of them?? Quote
Lozz196 Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I’ve not owned any but have played through a good few, with usually the only set up time being a line check but always been able to adjust eq to quickly get a good sound. They seem to have a presence that some other brands don’t imo, it’s difficult to describe it, maybe a hardness/solidity to the sound. Really helps with on stage sounds and hearing yourself. Quote
tauzero Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I had a pair of GK 112 cabs (a long time ago, they may have been the 112MBEs). Unimpressive, didn't go very loud and got very harsh very quickly. Moved them on for a pair of Berg AE112s which were far, far better. Quote

One might as well be asking 'Any experience with Toyota?' That depends. Toyota Aygo? Or Toyota Mirai? 2 Quote
Minininjarob Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Looking at a Cx210 available locally, one of the current ones. I think I’m a serial procrastinator and I just need to buy it. I have a GK head to go with it and I like my 112 combo so what’s the worst that could happen?? Quote
casapete Posted February 3 Posted February 3 I used GK cabs for a long time. Had two Neo 410 cabs and they were great paired with my GK 1001RB amp head. Never missed a beat or came anywhere near farting out. Also had an older 410 and a 210 ( ceramic drivers) which were also okay. Quote

Looks like I’ve bought a CX210 for a good price, picking it up tomorrow. Not too heavy either to say they aren’t neo 2 Quote

Jeez it’s loud. @ossyrocks will hopefully appreciate the cab is wider than the amp, we don’t want that top heavy nonsense do we? Edited February 21 by Minininjarob 6 Quote
kuetsum Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Does the biamp system really making a difference? Quote

I think the later 1001 and 2001 have bi amps, I know someone with a 2001 and that has that feature. Edited February 21 by Minininjarob 1 Quote
ebenezer Posted February 21 Posted February 21 The higher quality ceramic and neo cabs with the bi-amp feature are great...I'm sure the drivers are built by eminence to gk specs 1 Quote
Downunderwonder Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Yeah, I just about busted my boiler shifting a 410 from the drummer's car when I depped. Saved by a young passer by who saw my struggles. Quote
Downunderwonder Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I accidentally blew up most of the gig as small stage and 410 in a small pub is wont to do. I wandered out front with my long lead and shocked how loud I was in the mix. 1 1 Quote
