You can multiple by 0.1 and add and subtract? Then you can calculate your tax to 1 decimal pretty easily. 6.625% is very near 6.6% aka 6% plus 10% of that. Tax = sticker x2 x3 /100 plus 10% Alternatively (Sticker x2 x2 x 2 ) -( Sticker x2)/100 plus 10% Little routines like this are 2nd nature to the Americans Mr Pseudonym referenced. Come on: this is a nation with some of the lowest literacy and numeracy standards in the developed world. McDonalds tried, and failed, to sell the 1/3 pounder burger because customers believed it was smaller than the 1/4 pounder (no, it isn’t urban myth.) 1 1 Quote

SteveXFR Posted Saturday at 13:24 Posted Saturday at 13:24 So JD Vance was unpopular in Greenland. Maybe he should have worn a suit and thanked Greenland. Just seems like that might have helped. 4 1 Quote

I ask because in his last term, Trump said he wanted to remove Puerto Ricans from their current status as citizens. It is consistent with his belief that Nordic people are what the US wants and Hispanics are the ones it doesn’t. People who hate PC love that kind of thing but PC people consider it racist. Quote

To the Orange one and his glove puppet JD Chancer it is anything that stops them being an asshole, them doing or saying what they want. Woke is anyone that disagrees with them. 2 Quote

Only the white European Greenlanders. Obviously not the indigenous Inuit. 1 Quote

This kind of thing is one of many reasons why I invest in AI for the long haul. I have witnessed the general levels of human intelligence on three continents. I don’t think it is inherently wiser to rely on the benign good judgment of the blood-and-tissue version. It isn’t as though life was enlightened and peaceful before the ZX81’s grandchildren could beat us at board games. Quote

That’s not really the kind of AI I am looking at when I invest for the longer term. That’s more the latest do-more-with-less crapola for generic, common-denominator uses. That said, I also do very well with my professional services because highly trained people rely far too much on what they find online. In that respect, too many human experts are also being trained on the internet, with predictably plausible yet wholly fragile results. Edited Saturday at 20:39 by Pseudonym Quote

However in their infinite wisdom the American people elected a handful of billionaires to MAGA. This is despite the Trumps first term giving massive tax breaks to the very wealthy, attacking medical care for the poor and implementing tariffs that had no effect whatsoever on increasing GDP. This term it’s all being taken to extremes and the US constitution, it’s freedom of the press and its position in the global world order is being shaken to the core. Oh well hopefully by the midterms they will be exposed as the charlatans and crooks that they are. Edited yesterday at 08:19 by tegs07 Quote
