Oh well hopefully by the midterms they will be exposed as the charlatans and crooks that they are.

Even if they are, it won't change anything or see anyone in their camp imprisoned. People like to think no one is above the law, but there is a definite echelon of persons who are. No one will be held accountable, no one will 'do time', the absolute best case scenario is that in 50 years time history judges them harshly. That'll be it.

Most likely true. I will settle for them being consigned to the dustbin of history before they do any more damage to the US, Europe, Climate change and general human decency.

It appears they are actively pursuing a third term. This is on the basis of the 22nd Amendment and whether it means consecutive terms.

None of my friends and family in the states expects another president until Trump dies. They believe that even another election will be a Putinesque sham that returns Trump to as many terms as he wants. They are resigned to this.

Oh the US has some options left to drag that even lower.

Florida is looking at changing labour laws to allow kids of 14 to work nightshifts, this is in preparation for undocumented migrants being deported.

Those proposed mass deportations cause a problem for the US economy but also offer a solution. Federal law states all prisoners must have jobs to pay for their keep, liberal California had a vote last year to stop the practise but decided "naw, lets keep the free labour"; they were also the second state to go the "3 strikes" route, how's that for worker retention 👍

Deportation won't happen overnight, court cases/appeals etc, so pretty soon there'll be camps holding large numbers. Won't be long before those camps become interment work camps.

It'll be like the 1800's all over again

I can't see him lasting out 2025. They're getting a real beating, I've never seen journalists going after a politician like this before.

Although to be fair most politicians would have resigned months ago.

Honestly, its fücking madness... absolute madness. I cannot see a route away from further escalation towards a global catastrophe of some kind, be it war or otherwise. The world's powers are now mostly egomaniacal megalomaniacs. The course has been chartered and we're all on board the Titanic knowing the iceberg awaits us...

A leaked call to car manufacturer CEOs Trump warns them not to increase prices. The guy is delusional.

Trump is delusional about a whole bunch of things. Part of the reason that Europe doesn’t import US made goods is protectionism but other reasons are cultural. Where tastes align such as Fender, Timberland, Levis, Nike and even fast food chains there are a lot of US imports but things like cars and even mass market foods there is a big cultural gap. I was just reading an article about US jam (jelly) products being under represented in the EU. I remember my first visit to the US having to bin off several US supermarket cereal, pastries, jam and salsa. The sugar and salt content for the European palate was just excessive. Same with beer. There are some excellent craft beers but the mainstream options of bud, cors etc is very different to say a Belgian beer. Im not saying it’s worse but there is IMO a big cultural difference between the US and Europe.

I think someone will come along and take his toys away and send him to bed. I think they're just waiting for him to have a proper irreversible breakdown.

The problem is KKKaroline is protecting him from the press. They know he wouldn't stand a chance on a daily barrage. Once she has her melt down they're going to fast approach no return, I can't see anyone delusional and confident enough to want that position. Even MTG is struggling.

Keep pressing...

I think that will be quite amusing as Trump has revelled in the misinformation to get where he is, but not is caught up in the fact that whatever he releases, noone is going to believe it is the full thing

I think the problem that’s been coming up time and time again is that a large portion of Ummurica actually believe everything that comes out of his mouth.

I'm sure that he'll be trying to cancel the Mid-Terms.

Im sure he will want to. From the things I have read many predict the deficit is increasing due to cock ups and rehiring by DOGE, deportations are hugely expensive and are causing real damage to the cheap labour pool and tariffs are going to increase the cost of living. It’s becoming fairly clear that Putin is taking him for a ride, the middle east is not getting fixed any time soon, yemen and iran are going to cost a fortune. He has made enemies of his allies, us veterans are not happy, big business is getting sick of him, the judiciary are running out of patience, his inner circle are being shown as incompetent and it’s only been a couple of months.

Move fast and break things might work for a startup company. A country is a little more complex.

Vlad will have him round for a nice cup of tea somewhere with a scenic view, like the top of a skyscraper.

It's OK, they won't through Trymp out a window, walking up one flight of stairs should finish him off.

f*ck me Musk is now taking aim at the hit Netflix series Adolescence claiming it’s anti-white and spreading his usual unfounded narrative that the story is actually based on real life crime committed by black teenagers.
Meanwhile Trump has actually refused to comply with the law regarding deportations of Venezuelan alleged gang members.

Another day in Trumpland.

I think this is what scares me the most about all this. Rational I can handle. I may disagree with saomething but if I see rationality behind it, I can understand (though not necessarily agree). Currently, there is lawlessness that appears to have the backing of those who would apply the checks and balances. It seems to me that we are in a time where we simply cannot predict any outcome with any certainty.

The more wayward factions (the world over) seem to have a pretty tight grip on things and I fear for the future. Not so much in a nuclear Winter kind of way but pretty everything short of that.

In terms of geopolitics this is buying China and Russia time. Both countries have a brewing demographic crisis that will severely impact their economies.

For Europe it’s an opportunity but the EU moves very slowly.

I can’t see any benefits for the UK (other than improving relations with the EU). We keep dithering about where our economic loyalties lie and are getting poorer by the year.

For the US. Most likely stagflation and a weakened global position.
