Cato Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago (edited) It's a hell of a line up. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c805m3l02v5o Despite being a huge metal fan as a teenager I haven't really listened to heavy music for 25 years but I'm very tempted to try and grab some tickets. cetera Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Ticket price will be ridiculous I'm sure...... Tempted, but I was never a huge fan of Sabbath or any of the other acts advertised. 1 Quote
acidbass Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago What a lineup! Going to try and get to this one. Quote

prowla Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I had an invite to go to their last final tour, but the ex double-booked me, so I missed out. 2 Quote

Same, I like some of their songs but not all, and most of the bands on the bill aren`t on my fave last I wonder if these tickets will generate the same fiasco as Oasis did last year? 2 Quote

At his age there is no way he will suddenly start to sing in tune 🤔 Saw Sabbath the Dio was fronting them (Heaven and Hell), what a difference. Quote

Let me know when you have Parkinson's how well you can sing. 2 Quote
Cato Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago (edited) I don't think anyone going to the gig is going to be under any illusions over Ozzy's physical health. It's a celebration, a chance to say goodbye, both for him and the fans. Edited 13 hours ago by Cato 3 Quote
lemmywinks Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Saw the original lineup in the 2000s when they sandwiched an Ozzfest day into Download, Ozzy was knackered even back then but they were brilliant tbh. Love Ward's drumming. They need to reissue the World Tour '78 tshirt in brown as well, wore mine until it fell apart. Quote
thodrik Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago It is great that it is the 'proper' Sabbath line up of the four original members. It is also cool that it seems to be a celebration of the heavier end of popular music being used for charitable causes. My main takeaway is curious wonder/bewilderment of what a band featuring Billy Corgan, Slash, Fred Durst, Wolfgang Van Halen and Tom Morello is going to sound like. Are they going to have 4 guitarists, no drummer and Fred Durst or is Slash going to play drums? All in all a perfect way for the band to say goodbye in their own hometown. 2 Quote
lemmywinks Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Wolfgang could be playing bass like he did for Van Halen. Quote

Well i wouldn’t be going out and charging a lot of money if i wasn’t up to the job. For the record, i don’t rate his singing at all, never have. Awful voice. It’s a shame that people’s last memory of a once great band will be this. Sure, Ozzy will get a lot of praise from those who are fans, and sympathy from other, but it will be ‘he did well considering’. Edited 13 hours ago by dave_bass5 Quote

I had tickets to see Led Zep play Knebworth in 1979 - had the flu and couldn't go OP sounds a hell of a great gig. Who've have thought in 1968 the classic line up would still be playing together in 2025 1 Quote

dudewheresmybass Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I'm so sorely tempted - I love Sabbath, and haven't seen them since the NEC reunion shows back in the day (97?) I suspect we'll be talking not much short of Taylor Swift pricing, especially as it's for Charidee mate! Quote
Skybone Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago My lad is desperate to go, so we'll have to see how much the tickets are. Thankfully, I did get to see the original line up play the NEC in 1997, was there the night they recorded the "Reunion" live album. Quote

PaulWarning Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Ossie and Tony played at the closing ceremony of the Birmingham Commonwealth games, Ossie sounded good but some thought he was miming Quote

I don't think it really matters how good / bad they are, with any of these gigs, its just an event. No he is not going to be as 'good' as the 90s or the 80s, but I don't think that is the point, and in all of these farewell concerts there is an implicit 'considering' on the 'They were really good'. 2 Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Fundraising gig in Birmingham turns into another Ozzfest . Will there be another show or 2 added on ? A lot of bands and megastars there . Probably be more than one stage to choose from . Potentially short sets by all performers . Whatever floats your boat . Quote
markbunney Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Hoping to get a ticket for this. Also was at the reunion shows in ‘97. I was 17 then and now feeling old! Quote
