These prices really don't surprise me... I doubt they'd have any issues selling out either and with a good slab of this going to charity then I suppose it's for the best that they max out the monies raised. I do want to go, but at £250 for standing, I'm definitely going to have to debate this hard!

I saw Sabbath in 2017 on the "last" tour. This looks to be a fabulous gig line-up of surviving members of great bands, but I'm not sure if I want to pay an enormous amount to watch from the back of a huge stadium.

Most of the bands I love I saw "back in the day". I'm happy for them to stay there, forever at their peak, in my memories.

I’ve got a gig booked in on that date, so im looking at £250 for a ticket, and losing out on gig earnings. It’s very tempting though. I’d love to see Ozzy joined by Zakk Wylde, who I’m assuming will be playing with Pantera. Would be a bit of nostalgia for me, the No rest for the wicked tour was one of the first gigs I went to

Ozzy struggled badly, vocally, during the last Sabbath tour, as the DVD clearly shows. He's been through multiple serious illnesses and injuries in the meantime, couldn't even perform with his own band. I wouldn't want to see him in his current state for free, never mind pay a fortune to see him get wheeled on stage for a brief cameo amidst an array of guest singers. Let's not forget that, according to the band themselves, Bill wasn't capable of holding a tune together when they were recording 13, 13 years ago. He's not going to have gotten any better in the meantime. This is going to be Iommi, Butler and Bordin, for the most part, with Ozzy and Bill rolled onstage for a brief appearance at the end. Sabbath are one of my all-time favourite bands, seeing them in this state will be depressing and morbid.

Sharon insists his voice "is as good as it's ever been".

Never was a high bar to start with, but she's fooling herself that it's anywhere near what it was.....

I can see this being a great concert -in theory - but I don't think we will be seeing a full set of Ozzy and Bill with Sabbath. Too many guest vocalists and drummers in the roster for that to be likely.  It will be stupidly expensive for a single day event. I saw Sabbath with Bill in 2004 or 2005, and rally that's good enough for me. Pantera died with Dime. Alice in Chains died with Layne (the missus argues against this lol).

I don't see any way that I go to this. I'd have to buy 3 tickets  and book time off work, find accommodation etc. Nope.

This is just Sharon being Sharon.

This is her final hurrah, what with it being Ozzy's final gig she'll have to put to bed that which made her famous in the first place.

I think we can pretty well assume that she isn't trying to fool herself.

Actually, it was very arguably Sharon that made Ozzy famous. (Yes, I have recently finished his autobiography!)

Not to the degree he ended up being and the empire they ended up with. Have a read, it's a good book.

I am inclined to agree with this.

Ozzy said as much himself in the infamous interview from Decline of Western Civilisation, that Sharon's intervention as band manager spoke for itself.

The band were so caught up in drugs and fame, they were an easy target for unscrupulous industry players to rip off. A familiar story from many bands of the time with young members barely out of school suddenly making millions in an environment that would make anyone's head spin.

She made unpopular decisions with her head not her heart that ultimately protected the band's interests - and she stood by those decisions no matter what. The mark of any successful business (wo)man.

You might also be interested to know that a few years ago, I was employed in a business that took us in and out of the Osborne's home in Buckinghamshire.

Ozzy and Sharon's bedroom has two ensuite bathrooms - one for her and a seperate one for him. I expect that insisting on not sharing a bathroom with Ozzy is part of the glue that holds the Osbournes together!

Yes, I read it and lots of others too. I'd say Bob Daisley, especially, and Randy Rhoads played a big part in making him famous too, but it wasn't until the MTV show that he became Prince of Darkness™, loveable buffoon and household name. There are lots of people they exploited, aside from Ozzy's alcoholism, to build that empire, lots of books too which show the other side of the story and fill in much of what was left out of Ozzy's quite selective book 🙂

Just watched some PR for it, Sharon and Tony.

Strange how it’s her doing the promo like she was in the band or something. Ozzy must be in a bad way, if they’re keeping him out of it at the moment.

Saw a vid on YT when the presenter said that he’s expecting a very short Ozzy and Sabs set. If Bill was a worry for the reunion, I doubt he’s been playing every day since….

i can see why it’s happening, but…..I always preferred RJD anyway!
