chris_b Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 What a great, effortless groove. And a right hand technique that breaks all the "rules". Love that! Quote
JTUK Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Agree... played out of the track, his style is surprising..and that isn't so unusual ..Rainey, Johnson, Verdine White, Randy Jackson are others that have that 'uniqueness', but mixed in, it is something else. Big dude, small hands..? but he gets it done.. Quote
birdy Posted March 23, 2010 Author Posted March 23, 2010 Someone is withholding pics :-) ...... Quote
Toasted Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 Withholding pics is a bannable offence in this forum. Quote

Toasted Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I think I know which one it is, and I'm about to have mucho jealousy. I really love white basses, and a white AC? Damn! Quote

Toasted Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 *phew* - close call. My "white bass jealousy counter" was rising. There's a fella on youtube called Mike X Zuniga that has a white LG5. It's so sweet. Quote

Flanker Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 (edited) Here ya go....... Plays amazing and is quite light too - a bonus for me. Cool basses! Thanks Mick. Edited March 24, 2010 by Flanker Quote
lozbass Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Woohoo - lovely! Is this an ash body (I think its the RAs that are maple-alder)? The binding appears to be very nicely executed. I love the Alleva etching on the pickups too - very nice touch (this doesn't appear on the four cases) Quote
Toasted Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I love the root beer finish, it's so American and classy. Contradition in terms? Nope Quote
Flanker Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Thanks guys it is Ash/Maple and very different sounding to Birdy's LG5's that I've played - much brighter - total slap heaven!! I felt the LG5 might be too dark played through my Berg NV412 but this should be 'just right'! I really am struggling to decide which of the other two basses to move on - I really love the Precision but I tend to play the Sklold more - also I think the Skjold will be harder to sell at a reasonable price. Strange how they don't appear to hold resale that well compared to some other makes - I rate the Skjold up there with anything really. Still want an LG5 too!!!!!!! Quote
Bigwan Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 That's lovely Steve. I daren't play an LG5... I fear for what might happen! Quote
CHRISDABASS Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Oh Dear!!! I seriously like this!! [attachment=45624:304.jpg] Quote
birdy Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 Just played Flankers LM5 and its amazing!! 70's Jazz vibe down to a tee but can get mean and ballsy when needed too. Super playable low action as well. I think I may get rid of an LG5 and get an LM5 so I have one of each !! Steve Quote
Bigwan Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 How much (ballpark) are you talking about for an LG5 second hand? (braces for impact and subsequent sharp intake of breath!) Quote
