I just watched this again (I have done so so many times) but this time I was listening through a £350 pair of headphones. Mike Rutherford is astonishing on this, throughout. A massively underrated player. So much creativity and talent - and a Status double neck!!

I bloody love this band, and this show is amazing, isn't it? In that Quiet Earth, man. Wonderful.

I agree MR is underrated, but it serves him right for phoning in such boring parts on the last couple of Genesis LPs. Is this really the guy that recorded The Lady Lies, Behind the Lines and No Reply at All?

Still love 'em to bits though.

Two wonderful songs. I love all Genesis until Steve Hackett left. I have a more complicated relationship after that!

Growing up I was obsessed with the top 40, and I loved it when Genesis would get into the charts, they just felt like my kind of band. Having said that, I didn't like all of the poppy songs, and I never bought another album after Wind & Wuthering.

I have music on when at work, and sometimes I stick on a Genesis concert (when they were down to the three core members), and really enjoy all those hits. Although I much prefer the old proggy songs, the hit laden stuff somehow works for me as background music.

throughout all of their lowpoints and god knows there have been many... you cannot take it away from either of them, their legacy was already cemented in the 70s ...even we cant dance or their final gig cannot erase.

Saw them in 82 at the St Austell Colosseum on the warm up tour for the Milton Keynes Gabriel reunion gig. They were spectacular and all the more so being in a modest sized hall, not too far from the stage. This medley was on the set list along with a rare 80s appearance of Supper’s Ready (practicing for Pete). The gig was the perfect combination of prog and pop Genesis. One of my all time favourite gig experiences.

…just remembered, they finished one song, something from Abacab I think, and Phil pointed over to the other side of the stage and said something like “Oh look, Tony’s pulled out a 12 string acoustic… well that can only mean one thing…” The whole crowd were already going ape-poo (saving the filter some work there) before he got the words “Supper’s Ready” out!
