HoorayForAnonyms Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Celebrity Pedals have released a very small run of pre amps modelled after the Ampeg B-15 dubbed ‘Smells Like B-15 Spirit’. Celebrity Pedals don’t have a website but should be up on their Reverb store at some point. Nice to have another option to add to the small but growing list of builders that offer something like this alongside Sushi Fx, Shiftline, Broughton, Ampeg SVT-DI and likes. @Quatschmacher Might be of interest? 3 Quote
Quatschmacher Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) Damn right I’m interested. Thanks for tagging me. Pretty steep price though, and as he’s based in Turkey for half the year, possibly subject to another £150 in taxes and fees. I get the pun but the the Nirvana reference is so far removed from the B15 sound. I’m sure there could be puns that gave a closer association to that era. Edited February 10 by Quatschmacher 1 Quote
HoorayForAnonyms Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 The price is indeed steep and it being probably mostly made to order means trialling one beforehand would be unlikely. And I struggled to come with a more apt pun. ChatGTP had a tough time too… Quote

HoorayForAnonyms Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 B-Fifteena Marie is excellent! Quite like the Four FlipTops too. Well done, sir. 1 Quote
Paddy777 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Looks lovely, and I’d like to support him as he’s independent and seems a good dude but at £600 I couldn’t do it, I don’t think it would offer anything better than what it’s out there already for half the price, I’d love to try one tho. Also @Quatschmacher I believe he ships from the UK so no issue with taxes etc I don’t think Quote
Quatschmacher Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Here’s a useful bit of info I got in a reply from Greg when I messaged him last night with my name suggestions. “Hey Peter, thanks for the message. Feel free to message on Instagram.com/celebritypedals in future as the Tube Preamp will only be available via DM through PayPal. You can choose any name and image you want for it! Thanks again. Greg” Quote

I follow him mainly for his occasional covers and bite size lessons; the pedals are a bonus. Great player. His series of video lessons are brilliant too. Edited February 11 by HoorayForAnonyms Quote

If he does rename the pedal using one of your suggestions @Quatschmacher, I think you should receive one gratis. 2 Quote

Wasn't valuable enough to incur fees though. 1 Quote

He clearly states in his reverb shop that he’s based in turkey for half the year, which strongly implies he ships from there when he is. And I do remember reading of UK folks who’d had import duty. Looks like the rules have changed since I last looked into this and commercial goods up to £135 don’t get charged (as HMRC assumes seller has charged VAT already) but gifts over £39 get charged. (That’s a little bizarre as presumably someone could send you a gift of a commercial item that is over £39 but under £135 in value and you would be charged for that, whereas if you bought the item yourself, you wouldn’t be charged. 🤷🏻) Edited February 13 by Quatschmacher Quote
