Long-time user of basschat but this is my first post for advice. About 10 years ago I bought an 80's Aria Pro II R-60. It came with a really beautiful but far from pristine fitted case, complete with spatters of obscure band stickers and gaffer tape for good measure.

I recently discovered a spot of mould on the outer surface which prompted a thorough clean. Afterwards I realised that the covering was peeling pretty bad so I decided to remove it, revealing a fairly handsome and sturdy wooden foundation. At the moment I'm torn between a dark stained polishing wax or just linseed oil for protection. I'm just a bit unsure what to do with the lip that's on the edge of the lid. I'd hate to ruin the inside of the case because it's in excellent condition on the inside.

I'm wondering if anyone here has restored a case before and has any advice or insights they would like to share? Alternatively, if anyone has any interesting ideas for what to do with one, I'd like to hear them.
