Marshall Bluetooth Speaker scam

Just a heads up that this is doing the rounds on social media again.

 

It look like a competition where a well known guitar shop ( the one I saw was PMT) is holding a competition to win the chance to buy a Marshall bluetooth speaker for £9.99. 

 

I'd already seen warnings about this exact scam last summer but today on Instagram was the first time I've seen it in the flesh and at first glance it looks like a genuine post from PMT, so I thought I'd spread the warning here on BC, just in case.

 

Why social media companies are still allowing a known scam ad format to run on their platform is another matter...

Saw the same scam both in Norway and The Netherlands, and what struck me was the comments section:
lotsa fake comments from fake accounts, and say half of the names were English sounding whilst half sounded Norse or Dutch, but the names were a bit off.

Obviously a scam ran from abroad, and its designers have a rough idea of foreign-to-them names, but not quite.

That said, the fake people were very happy with their speakers, as they so eloquently put to three words, so I reckon it's all good. 😁

I spotted this on FB recently. It all looked pukka but I reckon if something looks too good to be true then it probably is!

I very nearly thought about getting one, the ad is clever.

Then I thought as others have said its too good to be true, dodged a bullet there.
