Fender American Standard Jazz Bass 2008 £850 Thurso

Here for sale we have my lovely Fender Jazz Bass. It's a 4 string American Standard model, built in 2008. I'm the second owner of this Bass. The lowdown:

 

Body: Olympic White. Very presentable with minor imperfections. Most notable are the scratches on the rear, and a bit of paint chipping where the front strap button is. Other minor blemishes. Original tort pickguard is faded in places. I have a matt black pickguard included in the sale. Schaller strap locks are fitted.

 

Neck: This is a genuine Fender replacement done in 2015. Previous owner was having issues keeping the old one straight, so it was replaced for a brand new, Fender America supplied neck.  "A" string lock included as per photos. I had my luthier remove a sharp edge of the nut from the G side, as it was digging into my index finger at the money end. No buzzing evident.

 

Strings: Unknown roundwounds. They came from my Japanese Aerodyne. They work well, sound bright and feel nice.

 

Pickups: Tonerider passive set. Solderless vintage control panel with vintage paper capacitors from Northwest. They sound lovely. No hum.

 

Bridge, control knobs and tuners are all unchanged from factory.

 

Action. I think it could go lower. I think it needs a bit of a setup in all honesty.

 

Accessories: Fender hard flight case, and all case candy is included. The only thing missing is the Fender strap, which disintegrated over the years, so it got binned.

 

I might be interested in a partial trade with a Fender Mex / Japanese sunburst 70s style Jazz bass.

 

It's a great bass, and has served me well at numerous gigs over the years. As I'm in absolutely no rush to sell, I'll hold out for the right offer, otherwise I'll just keep it and continue enjoying it.

 

I've also attached a photo of my details on a post it attached to my Fender amp. I'm not with the bass at the moment, so hopefully this photo reassures in regard to me being a genuine seller.

 

I'm located in the far north Highlands, but I'm happy to courier / take a discussion re delivery to UK mainland addresses. I will not send overseas. If you're local, any inspection is welcomed. Cheers

2008 with 2015 neck. Maybe it is. Does the neck decide the age if it's replaced on an earlier body? Surely the oldest original main component should be the age reference. All supporting original documentation refers to 2008 also.
