edstraker123 Posted Thursday at 13:41 Posted Thursday at 13:41 I saw this article on ebay yesterday https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/account/regulatory/uk-digital-sales-reporting?id=5454 and wondered if the Basschat Marketplace would be subject to the same requirements ? Quote
0 Woodinblack Posted Thursday at 15:37 Posted Thursday at 15:37 At a brief look, it looks like we are outside of that, because although we list items for people for sale, we don't facilitate those sales or have any trace of the reportable information, such as knowing if anything has been sold, what the sale price actually was, the location or actual identity of the person selling the item. But IANAL, so what do I know Although looking at the personal details on there, it does mean if you are trying to sell something like a Wal bass that you have had a decade you do need to report it for Capital Gains tax (or I guess you can take up farming instead) 2 Quote
0 Kiwi Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago There's nothing here that we need to worry about. This advice is aimed at people who sell on Ebay, not Ebay itself. As Woodinblack says we are also limited to whatever information can be provided by the third party software we use which, currently, doesn't allow monitoring of successfully completed transactions.
