Westone Magnatone(?) PUP setup

Hello, 

bought a manky Westone Thunder 1a V3 bass out of curiosity, i do like a 40mm nut width and chunky neck. After removing enough filth and DNA to repopulate the planet, the PUP (magnaflex,magna???) is around 8mm from the bottom for the strings. The active circuit is out of action so needs repair (I can do) but would be v grateful if anyone has any settings they use for pup height. There’s no foam or spring to support adjustment readily albeit can retrofit. Currently drinking a Fullers Porter after a full on Friday, cheers
