bremen Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I knew this would be nice to play and would look lovely, but I wasn't prepared for the monstrous sound to come out of it! I have various instruments, each of which has some good qualities but also some failings. This is just huge. Everything's there. I'm lost for words. It's a DiMarzio Billy Sheehan pickup. A Relentless, I think. I went to see The Raven of this parish, hoping to buy his Shuker PJ. I played it, liked it (though I was really looking for a passive P but of course it also works passive and it's not obligatory to use the J pickup) and was about to hand over the cash when, being a nosey sod, I said -what's in that other case? -oh, that's another Shuker, here, have a look. -I'll take it. -Done. Pleasure doing business with you. Might still have to go back for the PJ, mind. 26 Quote
cocco Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Wow that's lovely and I can imagine how good it is. I have a Shuker neck on a P bass partscaster that he also assembled and set up. Absolutely sublime instrument. 1 Quote
bremen Posted February 23 Author Posted February 23 I still can't get over how BIG it sounds compared to anything else I've played 2 Quote
80Hz Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Oh wow, that neck is amazing. Same reaction that I had to @cocco's P!! Quote

Long story and a little polemico but it's an absolute peach. We don't talk about it because it'll probably upset the NYC bass mafia. Edited February 23 by Sean 2 Quote
RachAllenBand Posted February 24 Posted February 24 We really enjoyed your visit and are so pleased you like your Shuker! They always sound great! 1 Quote
Owen Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I have one complete Shuker, one Shuker body with a Firecreek neck and one Shuker body with a Goodfellow neck. They are all sorts of right. I am waiting to find a date that he is doing a set up course that I can go to. 2 Quote

Oh! Jon sets up my Bernie wonderfully. Two great luthiers. The OP's 'P' looks great! Would love to hear it. Quote
