YouMa Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I had a crack at chelsea the other night as part of my plan of stop playing as much disco all the time.I think this bass line is superb, and it is very unusual compared to the way i usually play.I never hear much about bruce thomas but i think i might buy his book on being in the atractions. I dont think he and Elvis costello got on though. Quote
skankdelvar Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 (edited) Saw a mate recently for the first time in a while. He mentioned that one of his friends down the pub is a bloke called Bruce who used play bass with Costello. My mate couldn't understand why I came over all unnecessary like. BT definitely one of the criminally overlooked British bass players. Edited June 5, 2009 by skankdelvar Quote
thebeat Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 When i saw the thread title my immediate thought was that Bruce thomas was never in Chelsea...imagine my grin when i realised that you meant (i don't wanna go to) Chelsea and not Gene Octobers new wave band with the same name...never a dull moment in my house. Born 2B Mild Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Bruce is one our finest. Wonder what he's doing with that talent now? Quote

Bass Guitar Magazine should definitely interview him. Quote

WHUFC BASS Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I think his finest moment was on the Get Happy album. Some fantastic songs and some fantastic bass lines on that album. Quote

cytania Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 He's also a martial arts master in his own right and Bruce Lee's top biographer. I think the new book is the 2nd or 3rd one he's produced on Lee. Quote
