ChubbyStumps Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Hello Chaps, My name is Phil & I've just picked up a bass for the first time in 25 years. I'm now 64 & have just discovered that my hands are a bit older than they were! A touch of arthritis & too much Fairy Liquid have made them both stiff & soft at the same time. However, I'm determined to get on with it, so I sent my one remaining bass off to be fettled, which I pick up tomorrow, then it's on to learning to play again. The bass is a 6 string (Tune Somnus Zi 6) and I'm afraid it'll be a bit too much for me at the moment (I've got very short fingers as well) so I may be looking to chop it in for a medium/short scale. I've had loads of fun catching up with all the latest developments in bass gear and all the new techniques & players & I'm looking forward to getting back into it. Might see you on other posts. Regards Phil 2 Quote
ProjeKtWEREWOLF Posted February 24 Posted February 24 (edited) Welcome back. I understand the pain...i quit bass for drums, then didn't play again for 12-14 years. My hands are messed up from judo/jiu Jitsu but it's ok too. Things will come back to you quickly! Edited February 25 by ProjeKtWEREWOLF Quote
