kwmlondon Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Someone has hacked this poor thing about something rotten... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126955895530?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=2Kavy7ytQ9W&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=KfK81-euT2O&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY "...looks ROUGH ...but plays & sounds just FINE !" It does, indeed, look ROUGH! Blimey, it's had quite the life and the routing job is so bad I'd have thought it was my work if I didn't know better. Having said all that... if I was into 4-string basses I'd possibly consider this. It's nice to have a bass you don't feel worried about getting the odd bump or scratch. Quote
Bassybert Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Just the mere £500 for a bass that’s been hacked to bits and had a very large split in the neck. What are these people smoking. 1 Quote

What are these people smoking. Yeah…. It’s not been in the hands of a luthier has it? I guess someone saw that mint ones were worth a fair bit and thought they’d try their luck. Quote

tauzero Posted February 25 Posted February 25 It's the infamous German seller. He tends to inflate prices by a factor of ten. 2 Quote
lemmywinks Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Our old German friend, think he's either listed this before (years ago) or this is a different hacked up Ibanez MC. Whichever it is this guy's storage locker must be a musical house of horrors. Quote
lemmywinks Posted February 26 Posted February 26 After a quick search it seems like he's been listing it since 2019: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/336772-maiming-is-too-good-for-some-people/#comment-3687710 https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/338467-one-very-sad-ibanez-mc800/#comment-3711563 https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/415755-good-grief/#comment-4066591 https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/462391-someone-is-deluded/#comment-4702524 2 Quote

It's two things - a £100-ish project that might be fixable if you could find a set of the correct pickups & had the tools/skills to tidy up & fill that 'routing'; and it's an MC824, not an MC800. 24 frets, see? 2 Quote

Ahhh. Well. That’s interesting. Quote
