tauzero Posted February 25 Posted February 25 (edited) No hit on the serial number. Not sure if that's significant or not. If it was really valuable, wouldn't the seller have managed to do more of a description than three generated sentences? Edited February 25 by tauzero 1 Quote
ash Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Saw it and wondered that myself - the bridge isn’t original because it would’ve been a two saddle job. The Tele Bass was introduced in 1968 I believe. Quote
Reggaebass Posted February 25 Posted February 25 I never really studied the tele bass much, it was re-introduced in 68 I think, it’s an Interesting one, the neck plate dates to 68 with the large F , looks like small ferrules on the body stringing too Quote
JJMotown Posted February 25 Author Posted February 25 Serial number is '67 according to andy baxter website. Bridge and control plate have been replaced over the years, but still a nice bit of kit. Messaged the seller to inform them of what they have and its value. Quote

It is very versatile as a result but not really for the collector or purists. Quote

I’m currently putting together a Precision with a Dimarzio DP145 (with series/parallel switching), and I’m rather excited 👍 2 Quote

Gotta love this line: “It is a type of guitar specifically designed for playing bass notes in music.”. Ya don’t say! 😂 2 Quote
walplayer Posted February 27 Posted February 27 It has a ‘67-68 serial no. but shouldn’t it have lollipop tuners and different logo for that year/number? 🤷♂️ Quote
woolf Posted Monday at 06:43 Posted Monday at 06:43 Difficult to see in the photo but it looks like there could be a crack / repair running from the E string tuner towards the neck on the reverse side? Quote

This is common on these basses. This one is (relatively) local to me and I bet there’s a story with it. Will take one of the team and stick in a speculative bid. Quote
Reggaebass Posted Monday at 07:47 Posted Monday at 07:47 The seller told me he has owned this for about 40 years Quote
wateroftyne Posted Monday at 09:40 Posted Monday at 09:40 May be legit, but the description sounds fishy as owt. Quote
