From my experience, using the cabinet on castors does affect the sound, and can reduce some ‘booming’ on more hollow stages. Removable castors do give you the choice of course. 😀 1 Quote

I put off putting my cab on decent castors for years, worrying that the sound would be adversely affected. I took the plunge and found the sound actually improved. 3 Quote

I found that on some theatre stages the sound improved when I left my GK 410 Neo cab in the ’tray’ of it’s flight case - the bit with the castors on. Got rid of excessive booming and odd frequencies being accentuated etc. I did generally prefer the sound of the cab flat on the stage though, but it’s good to have the option of either method. 1 Quote
Steve Browning Posted February 27 Posted February 27 It has to be said we're talking about a 2x18 here! 1 Quote
BigRedX Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Generally the proximity effect is more important than direct coupling when it comes to the sound of a cab and castors don't come anywhere close to lifting the cab far enough off the ground to break that. 1 Quote
bertbass Posted Friday at 12:11 Posted Friday at 12:11 Turn the cab on its side then no problem with casters. 1 Quote

BassmanPaul Posted Friday at 21:59 Posted Friday at 21:59 I found the best way for me was to attach the casters to a piece of 3/4" ply covered with a piece of carpet thus creating a wheeled dolly. A length of seat belt from a scrapped car allows me to pull the dolly quite easily. The dolly also proved very useful for other moving events. 1 Quote
