As you know I've joined a U2 tribute 

Here's another Adam Clayton bass

It has such a low action

Weird passive bass and treble controls. What should I do with them,  leave them fully up?

I'll gig it tonight with a mates band that I'm depping with

Looks cool - does it sound like a passive P or does it sound like a Warwick still?

Very nice. I was playing one of those the other day when I got my Aerodyne and Deluxe Jazzes in a trade in Manchester.

 

Quite liked the RockBass Clayton bass. Really solid and punchy sound.

 

i found the sound was at it's best when everything was turned full up, or ‘dimed’, as it were.

Just a passive bass and treble cut, like a G&L? Nice. Start with everything full on and adjust to taste, I suppose.

I played a Teambuilt Streamer CV last weekend that had the same controls, and they were interesting. The treble control has a very noticable effect, but I thought the bass control was very subtle (at least through the amp I tried it with, which wasn't the best). 

 

Is that a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound in there? I bet it's punchy as hell, and fairly bright!

I had a beautiful G&L Legacy many years ago which had passive treble and bass controls. Whilst my experience may not be directly transferable to your lovely bass, as I got used to it I found I could get some realty useful tones by dropping either/both. Also sounded great with both full on, but more 'modern'. 

 

I'd like to try a bass with this wiring config sometime.

lovely bass, very aggresive tone. scooped. Very loud it is

I will probably change the pickup and wire it like a P bass

but it needs proper strings, it's strung with weedy things

the reverso is the same

now I have it, it's growing on me. I didnt like the pickguard at first

I tried one of these a year or so ago and I thought it sounded and played amazing. Way better than I was expecting. If I ever got back into a U2 tribute band then I would have one of these along with a Fender Jazz or Precision.
