Fender Jazz Bass ’62 Reissue (1983) Fullerton Factory

Reluctantly selling my Fender Jazz: the details below are from the original advert. Purchased from Andy Baxter Bass Guitars in 2012 (Hackney, London. Now in Leeds).

I have the original receipt. It was owned and played for many years by someone in Boston USA.

I also include some info on Fullerton Factory Reissues.

This 1983 Fender Jazz Bass Fullerton factory 62 reissue pays tribute to the original version of the model. Features include an alder body with nitro cellulose lacquer finish in 3 colour sunburst, lightly tinted maple neck with a 1962 U shape. Rosewood fingerboard, and vintage frets, vintage style Jazz bass pickups , stacked concentric control knobs, tortoise pickguard, vintage style hardware. The finish shows lots of natural play wear. The relic look on this bass is all natural which adds to the time period feel. (This is not a relic repro). The nitro shows lots of weather checking. The neck dates 23rd Jan 1983 the pots date 1982, body date unclear. Missing thumb rest & metal covers. The truss rod works and the bass is set up nice and low with a very fast action. The bass comes with a period correct case. The frets were stone ground back in 2012 and remain good due to occasional use.

Fullerton History: (from a Fullerton Strat ad)

For those less familiar with the Fullerton factory, it was Fender's first return to the pre-CBS Leo Fender era of making guitars. these are known as some of the best instruments Fender produced since '64. Built on the pre-CBS machines to vintage spec by master technicians, these instruments play like butter and sound as close as you'll get to a legitimate pre-CBS Fender. (Not to mention, this neck is stamped "J. Torres", one of the most famous fender neck builders ever. just google "J Torres Fender" and see what people have to say about the quality of his necks).

This bass is available from Essex….. collection only…..

I have checked prices in Europe and USA and are currently between £3000 and £4000 for both Fullerton Reissue Precisions and Jazz’s

Price is £3500.00 Bank transfer prior to collection.

For further details, please PM me.

Thanks for looking.
