mike f Posted March 2 Posted March 2 “Broadcast live on Friday 28th November 1985, plus the songs they carried on playing when the show went off-air after transmission”. On YouTube. Go watch it. Michael Burnett playing a Stingray that sounds amazing. What a player. What a singer. What a band! Eyes right! 5 Quote

I think they were the loudest band I have ever seen (including Motorhead etc etc). My ears were distorting in the Hammersmith Odeon. 1 Quote

Hellzero Posted Monday at 08:40 Posted Monday at 08:40 1 minute and 58 seconds ... before I shut it off. Didn't remember that Cameo was just about cacophony. 🤦🏻 Quote
BassTractor Posted Monday at 08:42 Posted Monday at 08:42 ... and there was me thinking Cameo were nothing to spend time on ... (that was based on their mid-'70s output) ... and then this. Thanks for posting! 1 Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted Tuesday at 09:08 Posted Tuesday at 09:08 Not the best sound, but great band! 1 1 Quote

super al Posted Thursday at 00:07 Posted Thursday at 00:07 First band I saw live, Portsmouth Guildhall in '87. My memory seems to think Larry Blackmon came out of a silver coffin as the band started playing the first number. I think I was in awe as I'd never seen a live band that close up and that famous! Cameo were like a gateway drug at the time, Funkadelic, Parliament, Prince, James Brown, Defunkt, Was (Not Was) soon followed. I still have much of Cameo's output on vinyl, it was harder to find their 70s records before the internet you know...ah, those were the days...fetch me my pipe and slippers sonny! 1 Quote
SICbass Posted Thursday at 07:29 Posted Thursday at 07:29 I saw them then too. Absolutely brilliant. Quote
White Cloud Posted Thursday at 09:45 Posted Thursday at 09:45 Believe it or not, I actually remember watching that performance live. Good times. Quote
EJWW Posted Thursday at 15:08 Posted Thursday at 15:08 I enjoyed that, thanks for posting 👍. I really like that raw live sound they got on the Tube, you can really feel the live energy. There was a fantastic episode which featured Go West which blows me away similarly https://youtu.be/iX55-5VKcdQ?si=oM5KSBSgMhrfZCYJ Quote
