Or maybe they wanted something more musically interesting than a load a terrible metal/rock bands

Metal and rock can be some of the most interesting music, but not the typical Reading Festival band

When was the last time any of them had a hit?

I think Franz Ferdinand and Snow Patrol were one hit wonders and those hits were a very long time ago now.

Pretty sure Snow Patrol are still selling out arenas in the UK and large theatres in the US, and Franz still comfortably do a few thousand tickets a night.  I'm often surprised by how "big" bands are/carry on being when they're off my personal radar.

It'll be interesting to see how Kneecap do in front of a festival crowd.

I mixed monitors for them on a large festival in Belfast two summers ago and it was absolutely wild. They headlined the Friday night, with 10,000 kids absolutely going for it. I don't think they'll have any difficulties winning over a festival crowd here.

Funny how some ‘big’ names from 15-odd years ago (Snow Patrol, Supergrass, Franz Ferdinand, Fatboy Slim, Scissor Sisters) have fallen so far down the bill.

Not sure if this is relevant, but following the first two lines of headliners listed on each day, the rest of

the acts are in alphabetical order. 😊

Bob Vylan is the only one on the list that I would actively pay to see perform, although I wouldn't be mad if St. Vincent played there too.

I actually thought this was a Bob Dylan tribute act.
