Mike1962 Posted Thursday at 22:57 Posted Thursday at 22:57 So, on Tuesday evening I went to watch Bill Laurance and Michael League play their duo gig. Totally amazinng! Michael's bass, a 4 string fretless acoustic, blew my mind. It looks to be totally acoustic with a small goose neck mic velcroed on and placed right in the sound hole on the lower bout. I've been looking on t'internet since to try and find what it is annd what mic he uses. But can't find anything about it. Any ideas what it is? The sound is so close to a good upright, but with the slightest hint of trad fretless. Quote

pineweasel Posted Friday at 14:46 Posted Friday at 14:46 I don't know how you'll be able to find the mic, but the bass is made by Serdal Dag in Istanbul https://www.instagram.com/p/CQV4PchlFv0/ 1 1 Quote

ML was playaing a fully acoustic with a mic in the tone hole. Quote

I'd been in touch with Turkish Bass player, Amad Hani and he' already mentioned that maker a year or so ago. Quote
Jakester Posted Sunday at 10:43 Posted Sunday at 10:43 Difficult to say what the mic could be from that pic, but the windshield shape suggests it could be a DPA: https://www.dpamicrophones.com/microphones/instrument/4099?variant=29 1 Quote
JoeEvans Posted Sunday at 22:40 Posted Sunday at 22:40 A DPA would be a great choice anyway, whether or not it was used on that bass, although it isn't a cheap option. Quote
