Does anyone know which cab sim model in the HX stomp sounds closest to a barefaced super twin?

Pretty flat response up until around 4k where it trails off slowly.

None of the usual mid scoop of a lot of modern cabs but not as dark as vintage ones.

cheers!

I prefer Lo/High Cut block to simulate a cab, rather than a cab sim itself - it allows for a bit more flexibility of EQ I think.  Usually I found an LPF frequency of around 7khz suited my style.

As above, if you want flat response with rolled-off highs, the Low and High Cut EQ block should do the job. Or the high cut control in the Parametric EQ block, or global EQ, which behave the same. If the roll-off isn't steep enough for you, you could try the high cut in the IR block instead - you can use this "empty" without an IR file loaded.

Low/high block = green

IR block = blue

Both set to 6 kHz

I had no idea an empty IR block could be used. Never even thought of it, and also I'm surprised that there is such a difference between the IR Slot version and the separate high cut block.

That's great info! Thank you.

I should add this is part of a plan that avoids me spending money I dont have and making use of what I've got, a novel idea...

Instead of buying a bassrig pedal to split my signal to FOH and my amp I'm planning to run out of the hx stomp panned and merged a high cut only on the R out, then route this to my trusty mxr bass preamp with the XLR out.

Then the unaffected L out can go to amp (I can also bypass the hx stomps global eq, or just use it for specific room to room tweaks.
