1. No, the 'Classic' range has a weight relieved body.

 

2. EMG BTS is excellent. My 2nd fave after the Haz/LHZ.

I ought to go and play one but does "weight relieved body" mean "prone to neckdive"? 

I'm happy with a 4.2-4.5kg bass. Really.

I'm the sort of bloke that drinks tea if I'm driving, rather than alcohol-free beer. I'm happy with things as nature intended 😉

It does have a little bit of neckdive, but nothing a good strap can't counter...

No prob, glad that you still find time to reply here, cool stuff, but just to have a better understanding, are we talking days, or weeks, or months or years?

I have 2 Euro CST5’s and an NS dimension5. . All great basses . The CST has a thinner neck than a Euro5LX I had . Which was a better fit for me and my small fingers. I’m going to be putting one up for sale shortly if your interested

It probably depends on what percentage cut Mr Kip Winger wants on his purple Euro 4 Signature models with Ian Hill profile necks  😉

 

They've got to do costings  and set up the CNC for those new body shapes too.

Isn't the purple signature bass for Frank Bello? 

A Kip Winger signature bass, like his specially made Spector-Rickenbacker crossover one would be awesome 🤩

I know, I know, very unlikely to ever happen, but one can dream, no?

I don't think anyone's mentioned it being a Kipenbacker special order. That will never happen. It would be standard NS2 shape.

Maybe you should meet the Rickenbacker people and tell them "These aren't the Kipenbacker special orders you are looking for" 😉

I could easily live with one. Especially in that ultra violet finish the Euro X came in.

 

I need to get much longer arms before I have a Euro X.

Speaking of the Classic, I have the 5 string version which became my main gigging bass for much of the '22 and '23 season and partly last year, too.

(The pics are for reference, used them in other threads here) 

I hate neck dive and have a preference of thinner necks.

This Classic 5 has some of the beefier neck out of all my Spectors but to my biggest surprise it never became an issue (again, I gig this bass a lot so I would have noticed even after the honeymoon period)

The neck heaviness is noticable but I would not call it a neck dive ( the other picture is for  how I hold the bass) and it never posed a problem. 

Also it sounds massive (as all Spectors do 😉 ) A little bit more precise, especially for slapping.

This might sound silly but in my mind the white JJ Classic is like a BBNE2 on 'roids at 60% the price tag.

In a nutshell. Bass Direct talking to Spector about a Euro limited run.

Spector-nerds on BC speculating/suggesting/fantasising spec. BD not ready to confirm details yet.
