Brussels - Backline Hire?

Hey guys

 

I'm looking into hiring a bass amp, drum kit and cymbals in Brussels for a short tour (3 dates) in September 2025.

 

I am sure Google will assist but I thought maybe the BC hive mind would help with a first-hand recommendation

Are there any other bands on the bill who you could get in touch with, and who could either hook you up with local backline rental, or just let you use their gear? 

You could bring your own stuff, but you're going to run into the post-Brexit carnet issue, where it might be cheaper to just hire backline there rather than paying customs fees for your own gear.

Not if they're travelling with their gear. No carnet for accompanied musical instruments and associated equipment.

I got it - in fact I have a tattoo of that (taken from the WW1 commemorative coin of 2018).

@acidbass I've asked two friends living and playing in Brussels, but for now, the only answer I have is this society, which seems to be the only one remaining in Brussels city...

 

Poor offer I know, but Brussels has never been a good place for musicians to hire backline.

The prices don't specify the length of the hire, but would probably be daily. That would be €100 for a bass amp. Add other kit and I might be tempted to look at van hire from the UK as an option.

You could try contacting the guys at Groove Street 98 in Brussels. It's been a long time since I was last there if they can't supply the back line they may be able to suggest someone who can.

Hey all! Thank you for the replies - I looked into each recommendation. We have decided to buy a kit, cymbals and bass amp, and store them at a friend's house in Brussels for future trips. So all good!
