acidbass Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Hey guys I'm looking into hiring a bass amp, drum kit and cymbals in Brussels for a short tour (3 dates) in September 2025. I am sure Google will assist but I thought maybe the BC hive mind would help with a first-hand recommendation Thanks in advance Danny 1 Quote

You could bring your own stuff, but you're going to run into the post-Brexit carnet issue, where it might be cheaper to just hire backline there rather than paying customs fees for your own gear. Not if they're travelling with their gear. No carnet for accompanied musical instruments and associated equipment. Quote
Happy Jack Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Bizarrely enough, I'm playing a festival in Mons (Belgium) on 25th/26th September. Is there an impending Expat BassBash, I wonder? Quote

I got it - in fact I have a tattoo of that (taken from the WW1 commemorative coin of 2018). Edited March 12 by Lozz196 1 Quote
Hellzero Posted March 13 Posted March 13 @acidbass I've asked two friends living and playing in Brussels, but for now, the only answer I have is this society, which seems to be the only one remaining in Brussels city... Poor offer I know, but Brussels has never been a good place for musicians to hire backline. So here's the link: https://locinstrum.be/ The son of one these friends is into events management (and a musician too) so I'm waiting for his answer. 🤞 Quote
Hellzero Posted March 13 Posted March 13 And here is the recommended backline hiring company: https://www.ats-sonorisation.com/location-sonorisation Quote

That would be €100 for a bass amp. Add other kit and I might be tempted to look at van hire from the UK as an option. Edited March 13 by Steve Browning Quote
DrBike Posted March 13 Posted March 13 You could try contacting the guys at Groove Street 98 in Brussels. It's been a long time since I was last there if they can't supply the back line they may be able to suggest someone who can. Quote
mike257 Posted March 13 Posted March 13 https://toursupport.be https://www.backline-rental.be/ https://www.kick.be/ https://highwayholidays.eu/Backline-1 These are all in the area and have been recommended to me in the past, although I've not used them personally. Quote
acidbass Posted Sunday at 15:14 Author Posted Sunday at 15:14 Hey all! Thank you for the replies - I looked into each recommendation. We have decided to buy a kit, cymbals and bass amp, and store them at a friend's house in Brussels for future trips. So all good! 2 Quote
