LeftyJ Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) Modified Roland G33 midi bass Edit: not midi but it does have a hexaphonic pickup to hook it up to a bass synth. Edited March 18 by LeftyJ 1 1 Quote
Hellzero Posted March 18 Posted March 18 It's definitely his Roland G33 fitted with a mirror pickguard. Check this: Quote
PaulThePlug Posted March 18 Posted March 18 BBC Sight and Sound Concert? I remember the TV and Radio Simulcast days... 2 Quote
TrevorR Posted March 18 Posted March 18 (edited) I saw Lizzy on that tour and he was playing the Roland synth bass controller. I can certainly vouch for it sounding fabulous live. Spent ages getting to work out what bass it was until I git far enough down the front to spot the GR logo on the headstock. That was a fantastic gig - though I’ve never been a fan of John Sykes’ NWOBHM style for Lizzy . Darn it but he could play, though. The other time I saw them live was with Snowy White and his sound and style suited the band so much better as far as I was concerned. Phil was playing an Ibanez at that time. I absolutely hated the headstock on that bass. 🤮 Edited March 18 by TrevorR 1 Quote
police squad Posted March 19 Posted March 19 I watched that sight and sound gig over and over and became quite a lizzy fan (and a Sykes fan) both gone now, such a shame Quote
stewblack Posted March 19 Author Posted March 19 First band I ever saw live. Lizzy with the Gorham/Robertson axis. Colston Hall I think in '77. Astonishing and absolutely life changing for me. Followed not long after by Motorhead. 2 Quote
