Beerbelly
There's not really much to say here: my amp creates a lot of white noise. It's really loud and annoying and can be heard very clearly even when playing. It's not my bass or anything, because there's just as much noise when there's no cable or instrument plugged in at all. Does anyone have any advice? The amp is an Ampeg SVT-350 head and an Ampeg B-410HE cab.
Beerbelly
So it seems to be the cabinet. I plugged my amp into another cabinet (Peavy), and the Peavy didn't create any noise, while my Ampeg-cab still does.
Mr. Foxen
Is it high pitched noise? Might be a tweeter in one and not in the other, Peavey tweeters have sounded dreadul in my experience and are generally switched off.
joegarcia
+1. If it's hiss it's bound to be the tweeter turned up. The Ampeg cab should have a three position switch on the back. Switch it to off or -6.
